Chit Chat

Did this layout for Color Combo Challenge #101. I also used some inspiration from Virgina Tillery's layout over at Scrapjacked.

Scrapping the music

I did this layout for Challenge #66 at Scrapping the Music. I wish I could've done a Christmas layout, but I didn't have any Christmas pictures to scrap, so I improvised. I like the way it turned out.

I'm not a card maker

But I got inspired by Scrap your crap to make some Chirstmas cards for my family in FL. I used old Christmas paper from my stash, don't know what brands, and tried to make them each a little different. I guess I need to start sending them out now.

Color Combo Challenge #99

I finally scrapbooked again! I did this layout for Color Combo Challenge #99. I didn't have many choices when it came to paper, so I just used plain white as my background and used the colors in the challenge as my accent colors. The "1" caught the flash, so if you can't see it, it's the squash color. I'm pretty happy with it.

Color Combo Challenge #95

I had to go through my photo albums to find a picture for this color combo, but I'm glad I got to scrap this one. That's my nephew, Brandom, with dirt all over his face and a lizard hanging from his ear. He screams and runs away from lizards now, but he's getting a little braver, so I made the page about that.

I also had this monster walking around the apartment today. His name is Koda and he doesn't come out of his cage much, so we thought he might like to walk around. He didn't really enjoy it and tried to go under the couch.

I'm Yours

I hated the song "I'm yours" by Jason Mraz when I first heard it, but now I find myself singing it randomly. The lyrics are sweet, so when Scrapping the Music used it for a challenge, I knew it was time to scrap. I also used the colors from challenge #94 at Color Combos Galore. If you can't read it, it says "This is our fate...I'm yours." The pics are from Jan 2007 and August 2007. I'm so mad I didn't take a picture of us on his birthday a few days ago because we don't have any recent pics :( And I looked really pretty, too. Darn.

And I don't know what the heck is going on with my picture, but if you click on it, you can see the whole thing.

Looking forward to Halloween

Made this layout for Challenge 23 at Scrap Mojo. The witch costume was my favorite costume and I made the heart out of brads. And since Halloween is my favorite thing about fall, this is also my layout for Challenge #31 at The Design Experiment.

First layout of October

Finally got some mojo and did this layout for Color Combo Challenge #92. Used a lot of white space again. I don't know what's up with me and white space lately.

But we moved out of Dustin's parents' house a few weeks ago. It's been kind of hectic trying to get everything moved at the last second. The move was a total spur of the moment thing because of certain circumstances. We still have a couple of things to get, like a very heavy couch and a closet full of boxes and books.

I took this picture of one of our frogs the other day. I still haven't named him, but he's really cool. He's nocturnal and does not like the light, so if we turn on the light, he goes to sleep. haha.

Anyway....thought I'd update. I haven't really been in the mood to scrapbook at all, because I'm working more and walking to work now, so I'm just wore out all the time. But these challenges help :)

Color Combo Challenge #90

I wasn't so sure about this color combo, but it actually worked out perfect for these pictures. I didn't add the grey anywhere else because the photos had so much already, and the letters are more blue in real life.

I got my hair highlighted today. Took 3 and half hours because I have so much hair...haha. I'll post a pic eventually. Probably tomorrow. Unfortunately, no one at work even noticed because you can't really tell that much of a difference when my hair is up. It's definitely blonder and NOT RED when it's down, which is awesome. I went in there wanting brown on bottom and blonde on top but somehow the bottom is more blonde. I'll just have to get partial highlights on the top next time to even it up. I really like it though.

Color combo challenge #89

This one isn't my favorite, but it's okay. I did it for Color combo challenge #89. The colors were perfect for the photos.

Monday, September 8, 2008

I'm proud of this one!

Four challenges on one page! And I like the outcome! Haha.

First, the colors are, of course, from Color Combo Challenge #88. The B&W photo, 3 stamps, and butterfly are for the Dreamgirls Challenge #11. I used the Pencil Lines' sketch #101. And lastly, the page is about how I wish I had the ability to be confident, which is for catalyst 26 at Creative Therapy. :)

Other non-scrapbooking news is that I tried to dye my hair blonde and it turned a reddish brown somehow. It's not horrible, but I'm not keeping it. Today or tomorrow, my mother in law is going to buy some more dye so we can fix it.

I also jumped on the bandwagon and started reading the Twilight series. My MIL gave the book to me thinking I might like to read it, and I really enjoyed it. I read 3 hours before work then started again at 12 when I got home and I ended up staying up until NINE in the morning because I wanted to finish it. I only got 2 hours of sleep then one more when I took a nap later. But I started reading the 2nd book, which Dustin bought for me, and I'm about 130 pages in. It started making me sad though because I was already in a sad mood, so I stopped reading, but I'll probably start up again today.

Scrapjacking Toomuchcoffeegirl

I liked Christina's layout that they jacked over at Scrapjacked but I'm not too fond of my interpretation. It's alright I guess but I wish I would've used paint like she did. I forgot about that when I was making the layout.

Color combo challenge #87

As the title says, this layout is for challenge #87 at Color Combos Galore. I was trying to incorporate more challenges into this layout but I didn't want it to be cluttered. I like simple layouts, especially for older photos. These pictures are of my grandma that passed away. My aunt sent them to me recently and I knew I wanted to scrap them.

I've got Mojo

Did this one for Challenge #20 over at Scrap Mojo. The challenge was to use a title from School House Rocks and to use glitter. Then I added the clips to go along with Challenge #30 at Scrap Your Crap. I'm loving challenges. I almost scrapped all the pictures I got printed right away but then I figured I'd save them so I could do the challenges. That was a great idea. Even though this one's simple, I really like it. The title is my favorite part. I might need to add some journalling though so the title doesn't seem so random. I was thinking it as 'ready or not, world, here I come' because my nephew just graduated preschool.

Oh!! That stamp at the bottom...the first little space there says "No.____" and I have no idea what to put there. It's the first time I've used the stamp. Any ideas???

Color combo challenge #86

Did this one for Color Combo Challenge #86. The background paper looks more yellow in real life. It's not my favorite layout and I wish I would've done what all the designers over there did and used
plain cardstock as the background paper. Oh well. At least I got the pictures scrapped, right?

Color combo challenge #85

I wanted to use the color combo from last week but I wasn't able to get my pictures printed in time. This week's color combo ended up being even better. I also used the Pencil Lines sketch 98. I really like the way it turned out.

Scrapjacking Bettiescrapbook

I know my jack is not gonna be like everyone else's because I just don't like to layer THAT much stuff on my layouts, so this is my version. It's more stuff than I usually use, but still has my simple, clean look to it. I like it. :)

This is love

Did this layout for Creative Therapy's catalyst 21: Your first memory of love. I thought I had loved before Dustin and I got together, but now that I'm in love with him, I know none of that was really love. School girl crushes, infatuation, whatever...it wasn't love. No one has ever treated me like Dustin does or loved me the way he does. It's real, true love.

Two pages

Did this one using Pencil Lines Sketch #96 and the beads in the corner are for the bead challenge at Scrap your Crap.
This one is for OLW's Word up #32:Be and Color Combo #83 at Color Combos Galore.

Yay for challenges!

More old photos

I asked my mom if I could take these photos home because I wanted to scrap them. These are my grandparents that ended up getting divorced.

I encorporated the color scheme (kind of) from challenge #81 at Color Combos Galore and I also used over 25 stickers to go with the Stickermania challenge at HMITM.

Yay :)

Well, we just got back from FL Thursday morning and I finally calmed down enough to get online and blog surf this afternoon. I was almost through the list of blogs I look at daily when I came across this: http://thedesignx.blogspot.com/2008/07/challenge-18-winner.html

I'm so excited and surprised :)

Oh, and I took lots of photos, so whenever I manage to print them, I'll have plenty to scrapbook.

OLW: If

I combined two challenges for this one too. One Little Word's Word Up #31 was If and The Design Experiment's Challenge #18 was to do a layout about your senior year of high school.

The journalling reads: If I could go back and redo my senior year of high school, I think I would. I would stop worrying so much about losing one friend and focus on the ones I had left. I spend more time making ME happy. Most importantly, I would have more fun. But if everything really does happen for a reason, I wouldn't go back, because I wouldn't want anything to be different right now.

Girls in their summer clothes

Got another layout done using old photos. I used the Pencil Lines sketch 93 and the title is from the song "Girls in their summer clothes" for Challenge #45 at Scrapping the Music. It's pretty simple, but I kind of like it. I couldn't find any other papers I liked that went with the photos, so I ended up with that one.

New Layout

No sketches or challenges this time. I just got some pictures from my mom and wanted to scrap the pictures of my niece's 7th birthday. I can't believe how old she's getting. But yeah, I'm really liking this page. I'm not TOO entirely sure of the zebra-like paper behind the main photo but overall I like the page :)

Oh, and you can see the "seven" better in real life.

Scrapjacking Candimandi

This is the first time I've participated over at Scrapjacked. They jacked Candimandi and I liked the way she used the duct tape on her layout. I couldn't find any duct tape in the house so I used masking tape. Most people went for the more soft, dulled down colors, but I went for bright. I think I like the way it turned out.

Biker Chick

I'm so proud of this layout. I've been trying to scrap these photos forever and Color Combo Challenge #78 was just the inspiration I needed. These colors worked great. And since I was already doing one challenge, I figured why not try three? So I used the Pencil Lines sketch #91 and I used two different borders to go along with Challenge #21 at Scrap Your Crap. I love the way it came out :)

Random page

I found these pictures in a box and knew I wanted to scrap them. I love the way the page came out. I wanted to make it look old and vintage, because that's the way her house was. :)

I also wanted to mention something cool that I found. Beverly Todd is about to turn 40 and she's having a 40 days until 40 celebration. It looks like a lot of fun :)

Photography

I would love to someday be able to take pictures like Rachel Ludwig, Maggie Holmes, or Tara Whitney, but I don't yet have the people skills. I'm very quiet and shy and I don't even really know anyone here in TN yet and we've lived here for 6 months. So while I'm waiting to become an amazing people photographer, I take pictures of things around the house. Because I'm bored. And one day I hope to get a bigger and better camera because this one just doesn't capture things like I want it to.

Two new pages

I did the Family layout for Color Combo Challenge #77 over at Color Combos Galore and the other was Challenge #20 at Random Chaos (which I'm late for :/ ).
I did the Summer 2006 layout for Sketch 90 at Pencil Lines and for Calalyst Fifteen at Creative Therapy.

Yay for multitasking! haha.

Just a couple of layouts

These pictures of my mom and niece were so cute that I had to scrap them. These were photos from the birthday party for my two nieces that have birthdays like 2 days apart. I had a lot more pictures, but I didn't want it to look too busy. I kind of like the way it turned out.

Color combo challenge #75

I really liked the colors for this color combo, but I had a hard time using them together. But this is what I came up with. I also used this for the Scrap mojo challenge #16 where we had to use the phrase 'it's a good thing' and use a stamp. The little pink piece pulls out and has a couple of rules to live by on it.

Color combo challenge #74

I'm really glad I found the Color Combo blog. It forces me to think outside the box and use colors that I never would have thought to put together. These were more pictures that I had stashed in a photo album and now they're on a scrapbook page that I really like. The only thing I'm not sure about is the button pattern up in the corner. I couldn't decide between doing that and emphasizing the corner of the black paper. *shrug*

Signs of Spring

Finally got to the scrapbook store and bought the letters I needed to finish this layout. I really like the way it turned out :)

So the day we went to get my ring sized, I tried the ring on again and it fit. I guess my hands were swollen when I had tried it on before. But my hands are swollen a lot since I use them a lot at work. I haven't been wearing it to work to make sure it doesn't get messed up so I put it on today and I had to force it on. It won't be that expensive to size, so I think we might do it anyway.

I think I might have to take a nap today, too.

OLW: Think

Did this layout today for word up #27 at One Little Word. I word was Think and I actually couldn't think of anything to do, so I used 'Do Not Think'. I think way too much. I overthink EVERYTHING and it causes me to get angry and pick fights over stupid stuff, so I'm reminding myself 'do not think'.

This is also for Challenge 15 at ScrapMojo. It was inspired by my new pretty shirt I got at Charlotte Russe for 5 dollars. The shirt has lace just like the tulle(?) I used.

PL #86

Another Pencil Lines sketch already. It's not my favorite layout, but it's okay I guess. I don't really like the background paper but I couldn't find anything else that matched. *shrug*

Pencil Lines Sketch #85

Just finished the Pencil Lines sketch #85. I was just going to use the main photo, but I really don't like doing one picture layouts, so I went with the sketch. I really like how it turned out.

I'm engaged :)

Dustin proposed to me yesterday right beside Glenn Castle while we were at the renaissance fair. The ring is beautiful and I am so incredibly happy.

I finished this layout last night as well with some of the pictures my mom sent me. She refuses to learn how to use the digital camera we left her so is instead using my old film camera. lol. She hates technology. But she gave me those purple thickers for my birthday, as well as two other kinds of thickers. I looove thickers.

Color combo

I made this layout for Color Combo Challenge #72 over at the Color Combo Blog. I probably didn't get the colors right but I like the way it turned out. I had these pictures sitting in a photo album and I've been trying to scrapbook for my nieces and nephews, so I figured this would be a good page to make. I didn't journal though, because I thought the pictures spoke for themselves..they were just enjoying time in the pool.

I'm thinking one day I'm gonna make two albums for my nieces and nephews, one for each set of kids (my two brothers have three kids each). I love the layouts and I want them to have them, but at the same time, I want to keep them, so I think I'm gonna make copies and give them the original pages. Or maybe I'll just scan them all and keep a digital scrapbook or something. I don't know.

Anyway, if I can find more pictures to scrap, I'll probably be posting another page tomorrow. :)
